At present the Shangpung College Unit has an enrollment strength of 100 volunteers of the Degree level.

The NSS (National Service Scheme) Unit at Shangpung College, has been actively engaging in various initiatives aimed at community development and social welfare. Beyond its regular activities, the NSS unit has organized two special camps so far in the adopted village of Mynska, reflecting its commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of people in need.

The NSS unit at Shangpung College operates under the guidelines and principles set forth by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. It serves as a platform for students to channel their energy and enthusiasm towards serving society while fostering a spirit of social responsibility and civic engagement.

One of the key highlights of the NSS unit's activities is its focus on rural development. By adopting the village of Mynska, the unit has been able to direct its efforts towards addressing the specific needs of the community in areas such as education, healthcare, sanitation, and environmental conservation.

The special camps organized by the NSS unit provide an intensive and immersive experience for students to actively participate in community service projects. These camps typically involve a range of activities, including awareness campaigns, skill development workshops, health camps, cleanliness drives, and infrastructure development initiatives.

Through these camps, students not only contribute to the welfare of the adopted village but also gain invaluable practical experience, leadership skills, and a deeper understanding of the social issues facing rural communities. The camps also promote teamwork, cooperation, and empathy among participants, fostering a sense of solidarity and mutual respect.

In addition to its activities in the adopted village, the NSS unit at Shangpung College also engages in various other community outreach programs, such as blood donation drives, literacy campaigns, environmental awareness initiatives, and disaster relief efforts.

The NSS unit serves as a catalyst for positive change, inspiring students to become proactive agents of social transformation. By instilling values of compassion, empathy, and service, it not only enriches the lives of those it serves but also empowers students to become responsible citizens and compassionate leaders of tomorrow.
