Education plays a vital role in imparting knowledge and grooming young minds to become intellectual, independent and indispensable in the society and the nation as a whole. Shangpung College not only imparts academic curriculum to the students but also inculcates virtue and morals. As the motto of the college reads "Press On Towards The Goal”, the college strives constantly to mould the overall perspective of a student and to continue moving forward with determination towards success and accomplishing goals. As Mario Andretti quotes- “Circumstances may cause interruptions and delays, but never lose sight of your goal. Prepare yourself in every way you can by increasing your knowledge and adding to your experience, so that you can make the most of opportunity when it occurs.”

The College is affiliated to North Eastern Hills University, Shillong and offers Under-graduate programme in Arts Stream and Major subjects in English, Khasi, History, Political Science, Education, and Economics.

Since its inception, Shangpung College has strived to transcend learning beyond boundaries. We are dedicated to setting new standards in cultivating students into confident, compassionate, and intellectually capable individuals, with unique perspectives and decisive approaches. Students who are part of this institution receive not only knowledge of the prescribed syllabus but also experience multiple benefits from extracurricular activities. Recognizing that to teach is to touch a life forever, we believe in providing a comprehensive education that encompasses academic studies, co-curricular programs, sports and life-skills development. The ultimate purpose is to help students learn the whole process of education and life in general.
