Shangpung College is located in Shangpung Village in West Jaintia Hills District, Meghalaya. The College was established with a vision to instill a spirit of full commitment and devotion among students at the mental and spiritual level so that they become good citizens who would serve the society as enshrined in the college moto. The college is affiliated to North Eastern Hill University, Shillong and offers Honours subject in Economics, Education, English, History, Khasi and Political Science. Shangpung College is the only degree College in the corner of the West Jaintia hills District of Meghalaya. On 1st September, 2021 Shangpung College has been recognized as People’s College grant-in-aid scheme by the Department of Education, Government of Meghalaya.

The college mission is to achieve the vision of the founders by establishing and managing educational institutions based on the four cardinal principles of discipline, sound education, sports and service. The motto of the college is "Press On Towards The Goal”, the college strives constantly to mould the overall perspective of a student and to continue moving forward with determination towards success and accomplishing goals.
